Castelnuovo 1539 recreates a desperate last stand, as a small force of Spanish soldiers defends an outdated fortress against the might of the Ottoman army.
Designed for two players, with a solo mode included, the game features fully asymmetrical sides - each with distinct units, strategies, and victory conditions. The Spanish face overwhelming odds, their only hope to inflict such heavy losses that the campaign becomes too costly for their enemy. The Ottomans, meanwhile, must capture the city, seizing key positions or wiping out the defenders, all while enduring sudden raids and night attacks from within the walls.
The outcome may be inevitable, but the cost is not. Every decision matters as both sides fight a tense and dramatic battle where sacrifice, timing, and resolve will decide the fate of the siege.
