An explorer standing on a horizon-stretching chunk of rock can observe thousands of similar stone continents floating overhead and across the horizon, rivers of lava floating among, around, and over them as if inside a planet-sized lava lamp. Up and down have no meaning in this constantly shifting world of hellish heat and stunning spectacle. To navigate this environment is to risk death.
